Advances in UV laser technology keep LASELEC at the forefront of innovation for wire- and cable-marking solutions, as the company will be able to demonstrate at the MRO AMERICAS trade show and the Paris Le Bourget Air Show in the coming weeks. LASELEC is the only company that designs and manufactures its complete laser marking systems — including the laser itself — with a product range that is both upgradeable and adapted to every production requirement. For more information, please contact:

In the coming weeks, LASELEC will attend the MRO AMERICAS trade show in Dallas from April 21 to 23 (booth 2401) and the Paris Le Bourget Air Show, in Le Bourget, north of Paris, France, from June 15 to 21 .

LASELEC is a specialist in cable identification, cutting, and traceability equipment. The Nd-YAG UV laser cable-marking technology was pioneered by its R&D team more than 20 years ago. After proving its worth in the demanding aeronautical industry, this technique is now used and relied upon across all industrial fields. The railway, marine technology, and space sectors — and even Formula 1 and rally cars — have all benefited from customizable marking solutions developed by LASELEC.

The benefits of the processes developed and improved over the years by LASELEC have been integrated into aeronautical standards enforced in the industry. Unlike aggressive marking methods such as hot-stamping, laser wire marking does not alter the physical and electrical properties of cables. Yet, it is indelible and unalterable, which is not the case with ink-jet printing.

LASELEC has designed its machines to optimize productivity, which has translated into the integration of high processing speeds and automated operations through the company’s dedicated software tools. Depending on customer needs, production requirements may vary from low to very high levels. As a result, LASELEC has broadened its range of machines, while offering very competitive prices. Three series of products are now available, as follows.

To start with, the fully upgradeable MRO 200 series is ideal for small to medium-sized customer requirements in terms of volume. Customers can easily upgrade their MRO 200 machines — from the basic MRO 200-A model up to the MRO 200-B and MRO 200-S models, which offer even greater productivity gains.

For its part, the ULYS Modena range is ideal for large to very large production requirements and is equally upgradeable. In addition to the ULYS 110, 220, and 330 Modena models, this range also includes the ULYS 990 Modena machine, which guarantees unparalleled productivity gains thanks to its dual laser system.

Finally, the ULYS LINE satisfies the requirements of the railway, maritime, automotive, and cable-manufacturing industries, among others.

LASELEC also offers a wire sample marker enabling cable manufacturers to check the UV “markability” of given cables. Besides, this new LASELEC machine gives cable manufacturers the opportunity to make regular inspections during production. An added bonus is that this equipment includes the COMET system, which is designed to measure the contrast of different types of markings on the cables.

Thanks to the optimization of its customer-service department’s operations and to the high responsiveness of its teams, LASELEC guarantees the highest availability rate of any systems in the industry.

About LASELEC:
LASELEC is a leading manufacturer of UV laser cable-marking machines. The company is operating out of Grand Pairie, Texas, and Toulouse, France, and has opened an office in Sydney (Australia) in 2008, as well as in Queretaro (Mexico), due to its dynamism and rapidly increasing market share.

In 2009, LASELEC will attend the following trade shows: MRO AMERICAS, in Dallas from April 21 to 23 (booth 2401); the Paris Le Bourget Air Show, in Le Bourget, north of Paris,France, from June 15 to 21; NBAA, in Orlando, from October 20 to 22; and PRODUCTRONICA, in Munich, Germany, from November 10 to 13.

LASELEC was awarded the International Development trophy by the DCF (Dirigeants Commerciaux de France – French Sales Managers Association) in October 2007, in recognition of its sustained annual growth rates over the last few years.

Fastlite manufactures state of the art femtosecond lasers pulse shaping and measurement systems operating at UV, visible and near IR wavelengths. The company will show its new laser systems at Photonics West 2009 in San Jose, Calif., from Jan. 27 to 29, on the French Pavilion at booth 6239.

All systems are based on Fastlite’s “Dazzler,” a widely used inline acousto-optic programmable dispersive filter known for its extreme compactness and pulse shaping accuracy. Dazzlers are commonly used in CPA, OPA and NOPA amplified systems, with shaping capabilities ranging from a few fs to ~10 ps. Dazzlers are also used in high repetition rate oscillators with pulse duration greater than ~50 fs (at 800 nm).

Fastlite’s new products are the “DazScope” and the “Phazzler” systems. The DazScope is an 800-nm pulse optimization system used in CPA lasers to automatically minimize and stabilize the amplified pulse duration.

The Phazzler is Fastlite’s full-pulse measurement system, implementing autocorrelation, FROG, XFROG, and single-shot SPIDER measurements, all in a common inline set up. With the Phazzler, one can switch between a FROG and a SPIDER measurement in a few seconds by clicking a button. Phazzlers are available in UV, visible and near IR wavelengths.

Innovative retailer StyleBell combines editorial and e-commerce for a unique shopping experience

February 18th, 2008

StyleBell combines shopping, content and community to showcase the latest must-have hair appliances with down to earth editorial and an innovative Blog focused on the specific needs of their customers for a more personalized shopping experience.

There are so many different flat irons and hair dryers on the market, all with different, confusing technologies. As online retailer StyleBell grew their hair appliance e-commerce site, they quickly recognized an overwhelming need for education and information about these products and created the StyleBell Blog to fill the void.

“While we all can’t wait to read the latest issues of InStyle, Allure and Elle, and would love to recreate celebrity hairstyles,” explains StyleBell Editor Shelley Nicoletti, we aren’t always sure which appliances are best for our individual styling needs. This confusion inspired us to create a user friendly blog geared towards education through conversation. Our friend-like dialogue is extremely beneficial to the consumer trying to navigate through many pricey hair appliances loaded with unintelligible perks like nano-fuzeion technology and far-infrared heating she states.

StyleBell sets itself apart from the competition by acknowledging the smart, savvy individuals who do their homework before buying an expensive hair appliance. Everyone wants to find the products that work best for them – but how do you really know? The StyleBell Blog gives all the answers in a conversational tone that endears them instantly with their target market. Explaining why certain technologies work, and more importantly, for whom they work best, has been met with overwhelmingly positive response and the growth potential is outstanding.

“StyleBell’s explosive growth has been organic. By maintaining a fantastic relationship with manufacturers, magazines and the blog community, we were able to grow virally very quickly. Our word of mouth advertising has been phenomenal” explains Shelley. “We have an obsession with listening – some customer service calls can last 20 minutes or longer. In our industry, that’s rare.”

“Everyone loves to tell a friend about a great shopping experience. Our editorial gets passed around the web as a valuable resource” states Shelley. “We’ve even seen our articles on competitive websites – it’s unfortunate, but we have the best information so we don’t mind being the leader.”

“At StyleBell, it’s not about a sale; it’s about creating a valuable online experience. That’s the future of online shopping. How stylish.
