GigaTribe, who publishes community file-sharing software already used by over a million people, is announcing the launch of version 3. GigaTribe software is for sharing photos, videos and large documents over the Internet with family and friends. Unlike the many existing storage solutions where one copies files on to a third-party server, GigaTribe allows direct PC-to-PC sharing.
or:

This solution offers many benefits. There are no limits on the quantity or size of shared files. Photos and videos retain their original quality. Shared files move from hard drive to hard drive and are not entrusted to any third party server, ensuring confidentiality.

“We came to realize that many communities were using GigaTribe in addition to their forums to share large files. With GigaTribe version 3, we are giving communities the opportunity to create customized versions that will fit perfectly into their world,” says Alexis Leseigneur,GigaTribe co-founder .

With customized versions, one can furbish the software interface with community colors and logos. The community administrator can communicate with all users via the software’s news window. Each user may search contacts within his or her community who also use the software.

Version 3 also has new features expected by users:
- The latest shared files are displayed with a different color for faster detection.
- Shared items may be customized with a picture or a comment.
- The chat interface has been fully redesigned and offers the same functionalities as that of the best chat software on the market.
- A private blog enables users to post messages that are only visible within their private network.

Released on September 16, 2009, GigaTribe v. 3 is available for download on systems running Windows 2000, XP or Vista, in both a free basic version and an Ultimate version . The Ultimate version offers faster uploads and downloads, hassle-free connections (no technical configuration required) and easy access to one’s shared files from anywhere via a web browser. The Ultimate version costs $4.99 per month or $29.95 per year.

Chicago, September 16, 2009 (word count: 446)
AddOnMail, a leading developer of Microsoft Outlook® plug-ins, has released version 3.0 of its flagship product, PSTStation Corporate for Outlook®. PSTStation automatically scans and detects PST files stored on desktops and applies actions like compression, backup or archiving.

The new 3.0 version of PSTStation provides an enterprise-wide solution including the top requested feature: automatic PST file detection on company workstations and servers. Detected PST files can then be sorted by user, workstation or file server. The advanced detection capabilities can even locate empty, orphan or renamed PST files. The reconciliation feature helps identify the former owner of any orphan PST.

Administrators can produce over 40 reports showing how PST files are organized within the company, including breakdowns by server, by workstation or by user.

“PSTStation Corporate v. 3.0 arguably enjoys the most comprehensive PST file audit functionality on the market,” says Gilles Teyssieux, CTO. “It is also the most efficient tool, thanks to the use of our own API (application programming interface) that is able to read PST files without using MAPI (messaging application programming interface).”

Once an audit has been carried out, administrators can define how they want to archive, back up or save the messages stored within detected PSTs, thanks in part to the product interface with leading archiving software suites on the market such as IBM Content Collector.

The backup features an incremental option that allows saving only new messages rather than the whole PST file, reducing backup size and duration. Thanks to its “Open Outlook®” option, the product can also eliminate backup windows by performing PST file backup at any time, even when the file is open.

“By using PSTStation Corporate,” says Jean-Christophe Cisse, CEO, “our customers may implement their corporate ILM* right up to PST files stored on their workstations.”

The product is licensed by installed servers, each PSTStation being able to process an unlimited number of users, workstations or servers. Version 3.0 is sold starting at $1,900 per license, including maintenance, for the first year. The product may be acquired either online via the AddOnMail website, or through its distributors Softchoice and SHI.

Building an online community for your business

August 10th, 2009

London, UK ( Pressreleaseroom ) August 7, 2009 – It’s certainly something lots of marketing experts are talking about, but just how small businesses should go about building an online community is harder to understand. Ben Dyer has built a 10,000 member community for his business and he shares the lessons he’s learned in a new article on Marketing Donut.

Dyer says that while a community is a powerful way to engage with your customers, building one requires patience and perseverance.

“For every community I have seen fail due to lack of traffic, two have the plug pulled because of a perceived lack of progress” he says.

Dyer says the other key ingredients of success are: leadership, ground rules, taking criticism on the chin, and making sure the community caters to everyone, not just the “fanatics”.

“Running a community is hard work, but it can be a fantastically rewarding experience for both you and your customers. The reality is that if you have a successful company, product or service, your customers will be talking about you anyway. What you need to decide is whether you are willing to facilitate the conversation.”

Why giveaways are good for business

July 18th, 2009

London, UK ( Pressreleaseroom ) July 17, 2009 – Making your most valuable customers feel valued with a carefully-selected gift could deliver the same return as a direct mail to 1000 people or an advert in the local newspaper, says a new expert article on free small business marketing resource Marketing Donut.

“Merchandising might seem like an unnecessary cost during the recession, but if you set clear objectives and select the right merchandise for your target audience, it can generate a valuable return on investment,” says the article on Marketing Donut.

The article says merchandising delivers benefits such as: connecting with customers, raising awareness of the business, and driving sales.

Marketing Donut expert Andy Preston says that with merchandising it’s important to be clear about what you want to achieve. “For example, do you want customers to sign up to your newsletter and communicate with you more, or to drive new customers to your website and increase online sales?”

It’s also important to choose an item of merchandise that’s appropriate for your business.

“So if you’re in financial services you could portray your reliability with something practical, and if you’re in the leisure sector, you should create something fun. For example, a go-kart business could distribute wind-up mini racers.”

The article also has advice about choosing suppliers and methods of distribution.

Marketing Donut is a free marketing resource that’s backed by Google and Royal Mail. It’s got thousands of expert tools and information covering all aspects of small business sales and marketing.

Innovative retailer StyleBell combines editorial and e-commerce for a unique shopping experience

February 18th, 2008

StyleBell combines shopping, content and community to showcase the latest must-have hair appliances with down to earth editorial and an innovative Blog focused on the specific needs of their customers for a more personalized shopping experience.

There are so many different flat irons and hair dryers on the market, all with different, confusing technologies. As online retailer StyleBell grew their hair appliance e-commerce site, they quickly recognized an overwhelming need for education and information about these products and created the StyleBell Blog to fill the void.

“While we all can’t wait to read the latest issues of InStyle, Allure and Elle, and would love to recreate celebrity hairstyles,” explains StyleBell Editor Shelley Nicoletti, we aren’t always sure which appliances are best for our individual styling needs. This confusion inspired us to create a user friendly blog geared towards education through conversation. Our friend-like dialogue is extremely beneficial to the consumer trying to navigate through many pricey hair appliances loaded with unintelligible perks like nano-fuzeion technology and far-infrared heating she states.

StyleBell sets itself apart from the competition by acknowledging the smart, savvy individuals who do their homework before buying an expensive hair appliance. Everyone wants to find the products that work best for them – but how do you really know? The StyleBell Blog gives all the answers in a conversational tone that endears them instantly with their target market. Explaining why certain technologies work, and more importantly, for whom they work best, has been met with overwhelmingly positive response and the growth potential is outstanding.

“StyleBell’s explosive growth has been organic. By maintaining a fantastic relationship with manufacturers, magazines and the blog community, we were able to grow virally very quickly. Our word of mouth advertising has been phenomenal” explains Shelley. “We have an obsession with listening – some customer service calls can last 20 minutes or longer. In our industry, that’s rare.”

“Everyone loves to tell a friend about a great shopping experience. Our editorial gets passed around the web as a valuable resource” states Shelley. “We’ve even seen our articles on competitive websites – it’s unfortunate, but we have the best information so we don’t mind being the leader.”

“At StyleBell, it’s not about a sale; it’s about creating a valuable online experience. That’s the future of online shopping. How stylish.
