Freshwater Cultured Pearl VS Seawater Cultured Pearl

August 5th, 2009

August 5, 2009–Now, the market accepts the notion that seawater cultured pearls are better than freshwater cultured pearls, because they are generally large size, clearn surface——better than freshwater cultured pearls, and the price is several times higher than the freshwater cultured pearls’. However the freshwater cultured pearls are generally non-nuclear and nuclear is done by the shell, it is indeed a real pearl of the thick skin. But the quality is far better than the general quality of seawater cultured pearls, so the price is very low.

Of course, there is a small number of very good quality freshwater cultured pearls, but the price is very expensive, can be equivalent to the seawater cultured pearls. This is because freshwater cultured pearls of good quality and big enough to be compared to seawater cultured pearls’ size are very rare, rare. The so-called rare. Today, freshwater cultured pearls produced have nucleus. And they are large size, bright sheen, with a color that you can’t find on seawater cultured pearls. As long as you like it. Freshwater cultured pears are better than seawater cultured pearls.

In fact, the diffience between freshwater cultured pearls and seawater cultured pearls is just pearls’ birthplace. Components are similar, so even if nuclear is made of shell, shell’s composition and pearl’s composition are almost the same. Everyone generally believed that freshwater cultured pearls are better, mainly for historical reasons. Becuasuse of ,about ten years ago, freshwater cultured pearl’s low production, very poor quality, and small size, further more, market controlling issue——saltwalter cultured pearls, only the best in the market, and freshwater cultured pearls , at the time were not good quality, but both good quality and bad quality pearls were selcted into the market, resulting in a long time for most people the bad impression of freshwater cultured pearls, as well as bias. But now insiders already know, already freshwater cultured pearls are catching up with the seawater cultured pearls.

  1. Freshwater Pearls comments:

I really have to disagree with your comments on good quality freshwater. The while the top percent is hard to come buy, it is certainly available. Also, the prices for the best quality are high, but not nearly as high as Akoya.
