Chicago, April 12, 2010 (word count: 730)
The Aerospace Cluster in Rhône-Alpes, an industry cluster from the Rhône-Alpes region in France, will be leading a delegation of 12 companies from the region to take part in the business convention Aeromart Montreal 2010 organized by BCI Aerospace, from April 27 to 29.
This convention is organized around leaders, located in Montreal, such as the regional airplanes and business private jets manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace, the motorist Pratt&Whitney as well as the helicopter manufacturer Bell Helicopter. It will be a unique opportunity for SMEs in the aerospace sector to initiate and develop contacts with these major actors on the market. More than 300 companies coming from all over the aerospace world (Canada, France, Brazil, China, Germany, England, Mexico) will get together during three days in Montreal and will have a privileged moment to develop business relations. Coming with 11 companies, the Rhône-Alpes region will be presenting one of the largest regional delegations.
An increasing participation of the Rhône-Alpes region
This is the second time that the cluster and its members are taking part in Aeromart Montreal. During the first edition of the convention in 2008, there was a total of 8 companies from the Rhône-Alpes region. It enabled the companies to initiate interesting contacts and helped the cluster confirm the relevance of Montreal as a gateway into the north American market.
Aerospace cluster has all the keys of success
For this second edition, building on its first experience, the Aerospace Cluster in Rhône-Alpes strengthened its strategy for its members and elaborated a global project which goes beyond simply accompanying companies to the event. Two initiatives have been undertaken to prepare the 2010 edition and enable the companies to have an accurate vision of the Canadian aerospace industry, its opportunities and to validate their strategy on the continent.
The first initiative happened last November, when Erai (Entreprises Rhône-Alpes International) organized the coming of Pierre Brouillard, former purchasing director of Bombardier Aerospace and Director of Montreal International, during a “mobility expert” program set up by the region. Therefore, the members of the clutser met with the person in charge of the purchasing strategy for Bombardier Aerospace between 1995 and 2008.
The second initiative was to enable members to take part in a preparatory meeting with the 2008 participants and share their experience. About 30 companies from the region took part in this successful meeting. Lastly, the cluster will continue to foster the businesses’ development, by offering follow-up with the local Erai office in Montreal.
