Dent Repair Detroit One Day

July 3rd, 2010

Detroit, MI – Dent repair, scratch removal and auto painting after a minor fender-bender can be very expensive. The inconvenience of having to file an insurance claim and leave the vehicle at the auto body shop for days at a time makes most drivers cringe. Consumers are often concerned about an increase in insurance premiums as a result of filing a claim for minor cosmetic repairs.

A study conducted by the consulting firm, Frost & Sullivan found that consumers are more reluctant to report small collisions due to the concern that premiums would increase. The study also identified the growth area of the industry as “cosmetic repair” that falls into two categories; Consumers who need a quick repair because they plan on selling their car and those who have been in a minor accident and prefer to pay out of pocket rather than file a claim.

The Collision on Wheels mobile approach is positioned to meet this demand in the collision industry. “Our mobile approach to minor collision and dent repair saves both the consumer and the insurance company time and money,” said Lenny Rutkowski, owner of Collision on Wheels. “Quite often, the repair cost is less than the deductible, making it unnecessary to file a claim. If it is more, then we work with insurance companies and they appreciate our workmanship and lower repair cost.”

Collision on Wheels is a national franchise company specializing in mobile auto body and dent repair. The franchise services a niche market of consumers who don’t have time to take their vehicle to a body shop for small collision repairs and who are reluctant to file an insurance claim. Dent Repair Detroit Learn What Body Shops and Insurance Companies Don’t Want You to Know!

July 3rd, 2010

Detroit, MI – Dent repair technician, Lenny Rutkowski, was recently interviewed and he explained the relationship between traditional auto body shops and insurance carriers. “There are some things that insurance companies and auto body shops don’t want you to know,” said Rutkowski.

Lenny began by explaining how auto insurance companies work with auto body repair shops, “Insurance companies typically contract with body shops for a pre-negotiated rate for repairs. Some practices include requiring low hourly labor rates or forcing the shop to cover the cost of a rental car if they do not complete repairs timely. These practices tempt the auto body shop to cut corners to recover this cost.”

Another concern consumers have is how long they will be without their vehicle while collision repair is being performed. “Quite often, the work is not done when promised,” said Rutkowski. “Auto body repair shops like to blame this on a delay in parts delivery when the truth is, they took on more than they could handle.”

Lenny advises consumers to check out the auto body and dent repair shop to see if there have been any complaints about not completing work on time. “Also check to see if they use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, rather than generic or salvage replacement parts. Some insurance policies have wording in them that requires you to use lower quality parts if you are in at fault in an accident. Otherwise, you need to request that they only use OEM parts.”

To avoid these problems, Lenny Rutkowski recommends getting an estimate from Collision on Wheels, a mobile auto body shop, before visiting a traditional auto body shop. “Our cost for minor collision and dent repair is typically less than an insurance deductible,” said Rutkowski. “In the event that the cost of repair is more, we do work with most major insurance carriers. Insurance companies appreciate us for providing quality workmanship while keeping the amount of the claim as low as possible.”

Need Tire Replacement? Contact Colorado Spring Tire Dealers

June 27th, 2010

Tire King – Colorado Springs Tire Dealers – provides top of the line tires, be it as one tire or a whole set. We offer bargains, discounts, or both that will suit the budget of every customer. Even after deciding to purchase a tire, many people get confused on what brand would suit their need. Before buying any kind of tire, it is best to consider some factors before spending.

For a fact, tires are fashioned in a way that it will match particular driving needs. There are tires that are built for different climatic conditions to provide the utmost comfort, long service, or to reach a vehicle’s optimum performance. It is practical to choose a tire that will suit any driving situation. Also, purchase one whose size is exactly perfect for your vehicle.

Buying a used and cheap tire is the best alternative for people who are on a very minimal and limited budget. However, the downside is that buying a second-hand tire is a lot more complex than buying tires that are newly manufactured. Yet, dealers who have earned respective name in the industry will carefully inspect a product before they offer it to any buyer. They also usually ask buyers to do the inspection themselves to ensure its quality and that it fits to their preferences. When you are confused on what tire would work best for you, ask the dealer and they will recommend you the right thing because a reputable dealer takes delight in answering buyers’ queries.

Also, you need to inspect tires for possible repair mistakes. See to it that the patches are well placed and looks durable enough not to loosen after prolonged use. Also these patches must be smooth enough to provide more convenience while driving. It is better to ask of anything that looks suspicious like plugs. Check the bead for broken regions or splits since this will disable tire’s sealing to the wheels. Finally do not purchase tires that are already older than 10 years. Tire King can guide you in determining the tire’s age code and other details.

IFP and other French Companies Develop Platform for Hybrid Automotive Virtual Testing (Z066)

April 8th, 2009

IFP AND OTHER FRENCH COMPANIES DEVELOP HYHIL PLATFORM TO VIRTUALLY TEST HYBRID AUTOMOTIVE ARCHITECTURES
Coming to SAE 2009 in Detroit, April 20 to 23, DieselFrance booth 631

Chicago, April 7, 2009 (word count: 305)

A high-resolution logo is available on request.

Launched in 2008 by D2T in partnership with IFP, Renault, the Laboratoire de Génie électrique de Grenoble (G2ELAB) and LMS-Imagine, and supported by the Mov’eo competitiveness cluster and FUI Fund, the HyHIL virtual hybrid test platform is now up and running. HyHIL uses a suite of generic tools to reproduce and assess the complex architectures of hybrid vehicles. The physical modeling of the components is done on the LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim simulation platform. Piloting of the powertrain test bench and model execution are based on the real-time functionalities of D2T’s MORPHEE 2 test bench supervisor.

Three hybrid architectures have already been validated on this platform:
- ”Pure thermal” mode, with simulation of an alternator-starter.
- ”Stop & Start” mode, with simulation of the engine’s frequent stop/start phases.
- ”Hybrid” mode, with simulation of electric propulsion, energy recovery during deceleration phases and battery recharging.
These architectures have been tested over several standard driving cycles (NEDC, FTP, Artemis, etc.) using an energy supervisor developed by IFP, which is generic enough not to require specific calibration.

The parameters of the components can be adjusted directly on the powertrain test bench (electric engine power, vehicle mass, etc.) so that the effects on CO2 emissions and drivability can be analyzed immediately.

Validation will now focus on a hybrid 4-wheel drive architecture, to evaluate the vehicle’s dynamic behavior more accurately. This will also make it possible to fine-tune the development of functions relating to energy recovery and braking (interaction with ABS, ESP, etc.). In addition, some more relevant models of electrical components (electric powertrain, battery, etc.) will be gradually integrated. Finally, work will be carried out to enhance the generic nature of the energy supervisor.

Upon completion in 2010, the HyHIL platform is expected to significantly reduce the time required for the design and development stage of a new hybrid architecture.

New vehicle-calibration center in Normandy
D2T is investing in its CESAME facility (located near Normandy, France) by opening a new  vehicle calibration center. These state-of-the-art test beds will expand the company’s capability for calibration to include the entire drive system. New test beds include: diesel and gasoline 4-wheel chassis dynos for Euro 5 and 6 standards, engine test beds configured for hybrid applications, electric and electronic validation test beds for engine and vehicle computers, and integration of real-time simulation systems.

This investment demonstrates D2T’s commitment to its customers by expanding core business to include complete vehicle development. This new resource strengthens its position as a global supplier for engine and powertrain engineering.

D2T’s solutions for hybrid powertrain validation
One of the challenges facing today’s engine engineer is how to assess different hybrid powertrain architectures in the early stages of development. The HYHIL project (Hybrid – Hardware In the Loop), was launched by D2T in June 2008 (together with RENAULT, IFP, G2LAB and LMS) and is part of D2T’s innovative approach. The goal of this project is to define the laws for analyzing future hybrid vehicles, an element central to the development of this type of engine. The project is supported by the French government and the MOV’EO French automotive cluster.

This approach consists of using a high-dynamic engine test bed to validate the complete hybrid propulsion system. The combustion engine remains in the test bench, and the electric motor and battery assembly are simulated by executing real-time models on the test bench. This solution makes it easy to assess the different hybrid architectures while keeping the most critical item of the hybrid powertrain in the test bench, the combustion engine.
