FRENCH PAVILIONS AT JANUARY’S NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL GIFT FAIR TO FEATURE CREATIONS FOR THE TABLETOP

At the 2009 New York International Gift Fair, the Ateliers d’Art de France, in partnership with the French Ministry for Foreign Trade is hosting two French pavilions to showcase French companies and designer-makers under the CreatedInFrance® label, testifying their authenticity and innovating quality.
From January 25 to 29, visitors can discover both new and established companies showing their newest products. There will be seven companies representing the “art de la table” with ceramic dishes, cutlery and pocket knives , hand-painted faience, flatware, porcelain dishes from Limoges.

ALAIN SAINT-JOANIS
The Alain Saint-Joanis company has been manufacturing a range of articles for the table since 1876 in the purest tradition of the cutlery industry in France, adapting their craftsmen’s know-how to new manufacturing techniques. Its single concern: quality. The top-of-the-range flatware is made with authentic raw materials such as ebony, rosewood, olivewood, boxwood, and resin. The company can also design specific patterns based on drawings, documents, or simply ideas. (Booth 2931)

CARENTON PORCELAINE
Carenton Porcelaine is a Limoges porcelain manufacturer, famous for a gorgeous line of hand-painted Limoges boxes, who has brought its skill to the table with plates, platters, and utensils. CLAUDE DOZORME
Since 1902, Claude Dozorme has created an exquisite line of French cutlery and Laguiole. The newest product is ladies pocket knives, designed by Claude Dozorme, and embellished with Swarovksi crystals. Those pocket knives come in black, grey, and red. They can be used as letter openers or at home to cut fruit or candies. (Booth 2921)

New exhibitor: HB-HENRIOT
Founded in Quimper, Brittany (France) in 1690, the HB-Henriot has always innovated and worked with artists. Nowadays, HB-Henriot is well known all over the world for its know-how: the “Quimper paint touch” and the tradition of producing and hand-painting every piece in-house as well as the creation of its own molds. HB-Henriot specializes in tableware collections and decoration items. A few years ago, the company diversified its production with faience jeweler. It is also well-known for personalized faience such as lug bowls and house plates. (Booth 2927)

Items from exhibitors in gifts and toys include: bamboo boomerangs from Wallaby Boomrangs (booth 2824), body care from Panier des Sens (booth 2820), dolls from Petitcollin (booth 2822), pens from JP Lepine (booth 4154), leather-bound diaries and organizers from L’Agenda Moderne (booth 4152), wooden toys from Vilac (booth 2822).
For home decor, products from exhibitors include: fragranced candles from Bougies la Française (booth 2828), furnishings from Taïr Mercier (booth 4150), original watercolor paintings from Beaumé Collection (booth 2836), perfumes for home and body from Estéban (booth 4151), and decorative wall decals from Les Invasions Ephémères (booth 4158).
