Pandomo: what to consider before a makeover

March 25th, 2008

If you are thinking of having a makeover for your home, office, apartment or retail shop, you should pay attention to the following advice.

The condition of the structure (floor, walls, ceiling) or the ‘bones of the house’ are the most important thing to consider before start asking for colour swatches for the walls or samples for the floor finish.

Just think about this: no colour is going to look good if there’s dampness showing through the walls or lumps and cracks showing through the floor. All these ‘little problems’ will give you more than a chronic headache: they will lower the value of your property as well.

So here are the easy steps you should follow: check the plumbing and the electrical; make sure you don’t do any modifications to load-bearing walls (or one hauling plumbing pipes, electrical conducts or gas). You may have already considered all this, but what about the floor finish? Where to start? Is it possible to get rid of the old terracotta tiles? If you want to completely change the floor finish and go for an eco-friendly option, you should choose Pandomo. No matter if you already have tiles, timber, old slabs or magnesite floors; Concrete Artisans provides a pre-levelling system that allows the successive installation of Pandomo. The result: no lumps, no cracks, just a perfectly flat and natural smooth floor finish.

Ardex Pandomo is a natural white self-leveling cement produced by Ardex in Germany and recently brought to Australia. It complies with the requirements of the Green Council of Australia for Low VOC Content Compound. Plus Concrete Artisans Pty Ltd carries on a dust free and environmentally friendly installation (for more details go to www.concreteartisans.com.au).

The new floor finish everyone’s talking about

March 4th, 2008

If you’ve been wondering what’s that floor finish you saw in a magazine but you don’t know who to ask, well, here’s the answer: PANDOMO floors. This is a new natural white cement, from Germany that allows the creation of unique floors using different colours and textures.

PANDOMO is a modern, durable, seamless floor system and provides every opportunity for architectural designs. But design isn’t all that matters; PANDOMO has been independently tested and is compliant to Green Building Council Australia specification IEQ-13 for low VOC.

This unique cement-based floor covering designed for all interior floor areas – homes, apartments, shops, foyers, offices, conference rooms, restaurants, reception areas, etc.

It has the feel & character of a large stone floor area but without the need of unsightly grout lines. PANDOMO is as tough & natural looking as high-quality hard wood timber flooring.

With its minimum thickness of only 5 millimetres, PANDOMO can cope with permanent loads, and its homogeneous colour won’t fade. PANDOMO is available in a wide palette. of both natural or vibrant tones. The very colour you are dreaming of is achievable because the PANDOMO liquid pigments can be mixed individually.

If your floor design consists of two or more colours, PANDOMO can give you a continuous floor surface, because the coloured sections meet without any metal joints. You can incorporate colours exactly the way you want, create shades, graining, marbling and many other artistic effects.

No more need to follow predetermined patterns now you can experience the floor surface as an open area, ideal for visual forms of expression & striking impressions. PANDOMO is the new surface design: smooth natural look, unlimited colours, a warm feel & absolute freedom.

PANDOMO is available from accredited Ardex Contractors only to ensure the installations process meets the highest building and construction standards.
